چکیده
Biomass as a clean and renewable source of energy has immense potential to aid in solving the crisis world. In order accurately predict fluidization behavior biomass particles using Eulerian–Eulerian approach kinetic theory for granular flows (KTGF), employing appropriate models that adapt irregularly shaped can precisely interaction between is crucial. this study, effects varying radial distribution functions (RDF), frictional viscosity (FVM), angles internal friction (ϕ), stress blending (SBF) on performance two-fluid (TFM) were investigated. Simulation predictions compared validated with previous experiments literature Geldart B walnut shells. When applying sphericity account size irregularities particles, results study demonstrated both Ma–Ahmadi Carnahan–Starling RDFs along Schaeffer FVM agree experimental data. More specifically, bubbling prediction slightly favored use RDF particles. The also revealed importance regardless initial void fraction. became more important time proceeded particle bulk density decreased. With change ϕ application SBF, no significant differences time-averaged observed. However, when ranges 30 40, greatly aligned results.

Determination of Cluster Hydrodynamics in Bubbling Fluidized Beds by the EMMS Approach
The local solid flow structure of gas-solid bubbling fluidized bed was investigated to identify and characterize the particle clusters. Extensive mathematical calculations were carried out using the energy-minimization multi-scale (EMMS) approach for evaluating cluster properties including the velocity, the size and the void fraction of clusters in the dense phase of the bed. The results showed...

One of the major advantages of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) combustors is their efficiency for the combustion of wide variety of solid fuels. From this point of view, in this study, the combustor efficiency has been defined and investigated for CFB biomass combustor based on the losses using a dynamic 2D model. The model is shown to agree well with the published data. The combustion efficien...
متن کاملThe role of particle - particle interactions in bubbling gas - fluidized beds of Geldart A particles : A discrete particle study
Discrete particle simulations are by now well established as an effective tool to study the mechanics of complex gas-solid flows in gas-fluidized beds. In this study, a state-of-the-art discrete particle model is used to explore the role of particle-particle interactions in bubbling gas-fluidized beds of Geldart A particles. We find that the particle-particle interactions, including inelastic p...
متن کاملCFD-DEM Investigation on van der Waals Force in Gas-Solid Bubbling Fluidized Beds
Effect of interparticle force on the hydrodynamics of gas-solid fluidized beds was investigated using the combined method of computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method (CFD-DEM). The cohesive force between particles was considered to follow the van der Waals equation form. The model was validated by experimental results from literature in terms of bed voidage distribution and Eule...
متن کاملParticle Technology and Fluidization Simulation of Structural Phenomena in Mixed-Particle Fluidized Beds
A statistical mechanical simulation was developed and used to predict the macroscopic and microscopic behavior of fluidized beds. In particular, the model was used to study structural phenomena in liquid fluidized beds that contain a distribution of particle sizes and/or densities. Bed structural phenomena, such as density-based and sizebased segregation, classification, expansion, inversion, a...
